On Friday 29th September, Drumragh Integrated College held a whole school MacMillan Coffee Morning in honour of Graham Peters. Altogether, well over seven hundred Staff and students got to enjoy an abundance of home baked treats and purchased delights with the highlight being the delicious dessert table that was devoured down to the very last crumb! The craic was mighty and the music sang out as the school community relaxed with a good wee chat with friends. As well as the generosity of the parents, pupils and staff the event was supported by numerous local businesses; Sally’s of Aughnacloy, Strathroy Diaries, BOC Gas, Bakewells, McCleans, Mullaghmore Bakery, Supervalue, Western Catering, Gortush Foods, ASDA, EA Catering and M&S. As a result of the overwhelming support received the remaining treats which weren’t eaten on the day were donated to local food banks within the community. Although tinged with sadness of the loss of such a remarkable man a huge £3118.95 was raised all of which will go directly to MacMillan Cancer Support and we are delighted with what we have managed to raise, thank you sincerely for every penny donated. As well as this event Mr Lilleker, Head of Sixth Form is also fundraising for Cancer Research UK by running the Dublin Marathon on the 29th October, currently his justgiving page is over the £3000 mark. We look forward to encouraging him on his final preparations for The Big Race.
