Double Celebration for New-Bridge Occupational Studies Pupils

Two New-Bridge pupils were awarded CCEA learner of the year 2018 at a prestigious event in the Titanic Belfast on Tuesday 1st May 2018.

Ajay Mills from Scarva and Robbie Johnston  from Newry, selected Occupational Studies as a Key Stage 4  option in Year 1l and both students  excelled throughout the course. New-Bridge offers Occupational studies in collaboration with the Southern Regional College Newry and it has proven to be a most successful progression route for many of our students.

Ajay Mills chose to study Maintenance of Land Based Machinery and Vehicle Servicing and Valeting within the area of Engineering and Engineering Services. Robbie Johnston studied Website Development and Patisserie and Baking within the units of Design and Creativity. We are proud to say both Ajay and Robbie were awarded CCEA Learner of the year 2018 at a ceremony held in the Titanic Belfast on Tuesday 1st May 2018. Ajay and Robbie were selected from hundreds of students across Northern Ireland studying these qualifications.

Ajay is continuing his studies in the field of Engineering and is completing a Work Place Diploma. Robbie is furthering his studies at Southern Regional College, Newry and is currently studying City and Guilds in Professional Cookery and hopes to pursue a career in the catering industry as a Patisserie Chef. We wish both pupils every success!
