Plastic ducks were sold for £1 each and the fundraising event involved racing them along the river. This year, a large crowd of enthusiastic duck racers participated including pupils, parents and teachers at the school. Those who bought the winning competitors were presented with prizes of fun commemorate china ducks which, to the delight of the children, included Camouflage Duck and Super Duck!
Minnowburn Beeches, just outside Belfast, is 128 acres of natural countryside. It hosts a riverbank, meadow, woodland walks and links the landmarks of Shawsbridge and Giants Ring. It was a brilliant venue for the duck derby and a great day was had by all. All proceeds will go towards school funds.
