South Belfast where children aged between 3 and 18 years old are educated together. Pupils from both schools recently came together with other integrated schools to help kick-off Integrated Education Week during a kite launch event at Parliament Buildings, Stormont.
Ms. Lo’s visit is encouraging support for Malone Integrated College Governors who are hoping to secure funding from the Department of Education for a new purpose built sports complex. Principal Mr Gerard Price was delighted to welcome Ms Lo to
Malone
College and gave her a tour of the school including its sporting and computer facilities. Ms. Lo had the opportunity to speak with pupils, staff and a member of the Board of Governors and said that; “A new sports hall would support this popular and growing College in its next stage of its development. It is important that children in integrated schools receive equal opportunities to reach their full potential in sporting activities.”

Ms Lo also lent her support to Cranmore Integrated Primary School Principal, Mrs Helen Hamilton, and the school Governors, who would like to further develop their integrated pre-school provision. Anna Lo helped the Cranmore Primary 6 children in a kite and balloon launch to cele
br ate Integrated Education Week. Ms Lo said; “Learning together from pre-school years is important and it helps to prepare our children for living in a diverse world, in which we may travel and work abroad. It is only through being together and learning about each other that we begin to know how different and more importantly how alike we all are.”
