Roles and Responsibilities training for Governors, Principals and Vice-Principals in GMIs
The role of the Governor in a school is pivotal to the strategic direction of the school. There are many responsibilities on the shoulders of Governors and in Grant Maintained Integrated schools there are even more. Not only are the Governors the guardians of the ethos, they are the employer and employing authority as well as being Directors of the Limited Company upon which the school is founded. It is important that Governors understand their role in these various contexts.
This training takes place online over two sessions. It is important that when signing up you are available for both.
Session one will look at the framework in which you role is built – revisiting the various documentation that outlines the various facets of your role.
Session two will explore good practice examples and give Governors a chance to discuss various aspects of being a Governor in a GMI school and also work through case studies that highlight the different issues that can arise for Governors to deal with.
We will email the relevant documents 10 days before Session one and would encourage you to familiarise yourself with them ahead of the training.
